On November 25, 1863, Union forces under the command of Major General US Grant assaulted the entrenched Confederates under General Braxton Bragg at the Battle for Chattanooga.

The Army of the Tennessee, under General Sherman, was fiercely resisted by General Cleburne’s Division on Tunnel Hill.

However, the Army of the Cumberland, under General Thomas, advanced on the center of Bragg’s lines, stormed up the slopes of Missionary Ridge and, without orders to do so, shattered Bragg’s line.

This led to a complete collapse of the Confederate forces, their abandonment of Tennessee and retreat
into Georgia.

We will portray both scenarios in celebrating this 150th Anniversary event!

The Huron-Clinton Metropolitan Authority, in partnership with the Multi-Lakes Association for Civil War Studies, Inc. (the 4th Texas, Co. E, & the CFI) would like to invite you to join us for our 21st annual re-enactment at Wolcott Mill Metropark in Ray Township, Michigan.
Visit the original 19th century mill, participate in our candle light tours, partake in the “farmer’s market”, come and enjoy the color of the surrounding woods and the beauty of “Pure” Michigan in the fall!

The re-enactment of Missionary Ridge will take place the weekend of October 4, 5& 6, 2013.

The 11th Michigan will be the Federal Regiment portrayed for the grand assault.

The Confederate re-enactors will portray Granbury’s Texas Brigade for the Tunnel Hill scenario.
